Banana Bread

2 c. flour
3/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cream of tartar
1/2 t. salt
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 banana
1/2 c. chopped nuts(optional)
1/2 c. sour cream
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. pour into loaf pan (or pans) lined on bottom with brown or wax paper. baked at 350* for 45-50 mins.
I always have bananas that sit there to long and I would normally just throw away but banana bread is such a good alternative. This is one of our moms recipes and it is exactly what banana bread should taste like!

  1. That's one of the lightest colored banana breads I've ever seen! I have some old banana's, gonna have to try this one!
