Sour Cream Chicken

Sour Cream Chicken

4-5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
seasoned bread crumbs

Marinade
2 c sour cream
1/4 c lemon juice
4 tsp celery salt
4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped (I used 2 tsp garlic powder)
4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp paprika

Dip chicken in marinade, both sides.  With this amount of meat, it will be just a thin coating, just what you want.  Let the chicken sit in the marinade overnight, refrigerated and covered.  Shortly before cooking, grease the cookie sheet.  Dip both sides of marinated chicken in breadcrumbs.  Place in pan.

Melt 1/4 c butter and 1/4 c shortening and pour over the chicken.  Bake at 350 uncovered for 60 minutes, until nicely browned.

When I had my son 2 years ago my friend brought us dinner a few nights after I got home.  This was the chicken she brought along with baked potatoes and a nice salad.  It was the best chicken I had ever had.  Then a while later I got our ward cookbook and the recipe was there.  Yipee!!  Honestly you guys will love this chicken.

Deep Fried Twinkies

Deep Fried Twinkies

6 Twinkies frozen (freeze overnight)
oil for deep frying

Batter
1 c milk
1 TBSP vegetable oil
2 TBSP vinegar
1 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Mix milk, oil & vinegar in 1 bowl.  Mix flour, baking powder and salt in another bowl.  Slowly add milk mixture to the flour mixture.  Unwrap a frozen Twinkie and dust lightly with flour, then dip in batter.  Drop in hot oil (usually 375 degrees) until golden brown.  Turning once.  Drain on paper towels.  Serve with powdered sugar and strawberry topping.

My hubby and I were watching food network the other night, like we do sometimes and it was all about deep fried foods.  I mean everything from hot dogs to candy bars.  One place even served deep fried Twinkies.  They looked delicious, so I searched around a little bit on the Internet and kept coming across the same basic recipe.  Tonight we tried it and loved it.  It's a new family favorite.  My daughter thinks it tastes a little bit like a funnel cake with cream inside.  My sister in law said she has had them before except with whipped cream and fresh raspberries on top.  Try them, you will love them.
