Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments

Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments

1/2 c plain applesauce (store bought is best)
1/2 c cinnamon
1 tsp white glue (optional)

Mix all ingredients together, forming into a ball of dough. Place a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet, then put the ball of dough on the wax paper and then another piece of wax paper over the top of that. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin. Roll it out to about 1/4 inch. Then carefully peel top layer of wax paper off. Using cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and with a plastic straw cut out the hole for the ribbon. Carefully remove excess dough. Let shapes air dry on wax paper overnight, then flip over for a few more hours to dry completely. Once dry completely attach a ribbon and hang on your tree.

We use to make these ornaments every year when I was younger. I thought it would be fun to make with my kids. The white glue is optional, we used it this time because it helps the ornaments stay together a little bit better. These smell soooo good. *DO NOT EAT THESE*

  1. How many ornaments will this make? I might do this for activity days.

  2. It will make about 8 - 10 depending on how thin you roll your dough, but you could easily double your recipe.
