Fresh Apple Ableskiver

2 T butter
1 pk yeast or 1 T
1/4 c warm water
2 T sugar

1 chopped apple

Scald milk and butter. Cool. Dissolve yeast in water and 2 T sugar. Add eggs to cooled milk. Add 1/2 c sugar, yeast mixture to milk. Mix cinnamon with flour. Add flour mixture to milk mixture. Stir in apple. Heat pan, put 1/2 tsp butter in each cup. When melted, pour batter in hot cups unitl full(ish). Cook on medium heat until underside is browned, turn fritter over with skewer or fork. Brown the other side. Remove from pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with jam, honey, or syrup.

This is another one of my mom's recipes. A family favorite. One thing about this recipe is that is doesn't make very many, so if you are having company, you might need to double the recipe. You also need to have a cast iron ableskiver pan.

  1. These really are yummy! The recipe we use is different and extremely simple. It would have to be if i am cooking. I will be making them again only with apple. Sounds yummy.
