Corn Dogs

Corn Dogs

1 1/2 - 2 lbs hot dogs - insert sticks and pat dry with a paper towel

1/2 c corn meal

1 1/2 c flour

1/4 c sugar

1 c. milk

1 egg

3 t. baking powder

Mix corn meal, flour, sugar, milk, egg, and baking powder together. Get your oil hot, heat to about 350. Dip your hotdogs in the batter the drop in oil. Let them cook until golden on the outside. Drain on paper towels.

I am not a huge fan of corn dogs and neither are my kids, but this is my mom's recipe and homemade corndogs are sooooo much better than store bought. We decided that we wanted mini corn dogs this time so we just cut the hot dogs in thirds and didn't put a stick in them. They turned out great.
